Galaxies
When times get rough,
It seems like the earth has turned its head,
But a kind soul will keep you,
As long as you keep them by,
But leaving them alone,
You have become the earth,
And have left your companion out to suffer,
For they feel your pain as you do theirs,
But what if you chose to be the earth
Would you turn your head,
And watch them suffer?
When life is at its hardest,
But you feel like you’re on cloud nine?
Turning your head on the one who trusted you?
Making them watch you in vain,
As they slowly fade away,
But what if you chose to be a planet?
Slowly passing,
Watching but unmoved,
Giving a sorry face,
Never stopping.
But when you leave,
You forget about the sorrow you experienced,
Forgetting how hard it was to live.
But what if you chose to be a star?
In the distance,
Trying to help,
To grasp what is real,
But not caring enough to come any closer
To the pain you once experienced
Leaving the one who cared for you
To abide with the hurt?
But what if you chose to be the sun?
Picking them up before they fall down?
Lending them a hand in times of hardship,
Healing them with your warmth?
Guiding them out of the darkness,
Leading them into the light?
Embracing them,
Telling them the pain has passed.
Because they would do the same for you.
We all need friends.
