The Dying Leaf
I once was green and now I'm yellow
I used to greet the summer with a big warm hello
I was admired in the sky and the Earth all the same
I used to be a wld leaf but now I'm tame
I used to have some purpose but now It's gone
And I'm scared for my fall now that the wind's on the run
i hope to cling on to the life that I have of mine
To glow and glimmer and sparkle and shine
Now that I'm old i haven't much choice
I forget my regrets and try to rejoice
I'm going slow and make no haste
Cause no matter what, the best don't rest
I see that now my end is near
I don't have regrets nither any fear
Look at me now, now that I'm flying
I'm still trying even though i know I'm dying
