Falling
Hauntingly, I look for you everywhere.
Even knowing you look for me nowhere.
Looking for you in every word, every
Phrase, every stinging syllable.
Months have turned into years and I’m still
Endlessly waiting to feel whole again.
Feelings of unrequited, hopeless, agonizing love
Ooze from every vein, every painful heartbeat
Ramming into my empty chest as reminder that a
Girl who loves so hard will fall even harder.
Even still, while I’m falling, swallowed by dark nothing,
Trembling hands still reach out for you hopelessly.
How in this sadistic, bitter world can
I believe that the pathetic fact that I’m still falling for you
Means that you will catch me?
