The little things in life.
Just as if that one bolt was left out
of the construction of a bridge
sends the whole thing rumbling
Tumbling
Crumbling
down
as soon as a car crosses it.
Just as if a person forgets to take their car in for servicing 
They just let the lights flash on the dashboard
Their engine could fail
Causing their car to derail 
A major disaster
With flashing lights
The Jaws of Life
And medivac ICU unit coming after
Spurred from something so small
Just as if that one uncited source
Left in your paper without remorse
And you’re busted by your teacher of course
Now you are being accused of cheating
Ending you up in the principal's office for a meeting
Greeting your parent with apologies
That you can't stop repeating
The little things in life
Just as if you forget to pay your meter
Leaving you with a towed car
Left all alone
Your are just prone to all these issues
Leaving you in bed burning through tissues
As you sit and cry
Then you are put in a hole after covering this month’s rent
And your body is just spent
Now you are forced to pay this ticket that will soon double
Which would leave you in HUGE trouble.
All these problems man (WHEW!)
It all begins with you
Little things like tying your shoe
Can be taken for granted
But can still leave you feeling blue
For example
Say you break your arm stepping on your lace
Attempting to beat your friend in a foot race
At the end of the day
I just want to say
That it’s the small things.
Building together
Like lighting and thunder in bad weather
Did you notice if you did it right when you had the chance
You would not have to give it a second glance
When you’re faced with any circumstance
It’s okay if you didn’t
You can’t always be the one that wins it
Sometimes you might just have to get burned
But that’s okay because
That means you probably learned
That’s not bad, you shouldn’t be sad
It is just a part of life that everyone goes through.
Sometimes you’ll moments you want to redo
You will have parents breathing down your back like a lion
you better not be lying when they ask
What you’re doing
Where you’re at
Or who you’re with
Because if you do all your words will be seen as a myth
And in this case you don’t have the option to plead the fifth.
