The Ballad of a Bat
The black sheep of birds, rarely seen in the day,
The beast sets out at night to hunt its prey
With its small mouth and short snout
It uses sound to seek them out
Alone in the night’s sky the outcast flies
It shields its eyes as it sees the sunrise
And once the light of day begins to return
It is for the night that the beast will yearn
