The Pearl Walls
There's a castle in the mountains that has windows but no doors,
It has pearl walls, diamond windows, and shiny copper floors.
In this castle in the mountains there is a pretty girl,
Who dreams of nothing more than to leave her walls of pearl.
No heroes, and no knights, none come riding horses white
No one comes along save her, she'll be left there all her life
In this castle in the mountains the girl will waste away
She'll rather die than live to see the pearl walls another day

I originally wrote this on Allpoetry and was inspired by the lack of reality in archetypal fairy tales.
