Why I Don't Wear Sunglasses in the Morning
The sunlight roars past the bumbling twilight
It thunders through the trees
It runs around the bushes for ages
Never brought to its knees.
The sunlight takes the wood by storm
It catches the leaves in its rays
The leaves, in turn, let light shine through
And they lay still in my gaze
It’s something else to run through the thundering sunlight
The solid rays of the morning glow
In a way that takes the breath from you,
Like a glimpse of God’s Greatest Show
