Favorite Quote:
&quot;Science has not yet taught us if madness is or is not the sublimity of intelligence&quot;<br /> -Edgar Allan Poe

The lines stopped flowing
My flame stopped glowing
Verses losing length
Diction lacking strength

Light of Creation dimming
The chorus ceased singing
My set has neared its end
The audience craves a new trend

Shall I try a new theme?
Or stay true to my dream?
Betray myself for the fame?
I refuse to play this game

Enjoy the worthless lines
Sung by greedy mimes
My heart will never defect
Even if they all reject
All I have to say
At the end of the day
For as long as I sing truth
I will never lose

The author's comments:

This piece was made to address the pressure artists may feel when a new genre is popularized and they have the option to either give up on what they started and submit to popular demand, or stay true to their work and stay true to their original purpose for creating their type of art.
