A Ballad for an Election Year
This year it is election time
And many want to win.
All are fighting for the prize
And making so much din.
The Democrats do fight within
The front is Hillary.
There’s also Bernie Sanders, boy,
Or Biden it could be.
Republicans are everywhere
From every single state.
The reds do want that prize so bad
They’re rushing at the gate.
There’s Donald Trump, the party’s joke
With hair so very weird.
He speaks his mind with no regret
But is not very feared.
The party’s choice could be Jeb Bush
A Bush and Clinton race.
Or maybe Carson on Iraq
Will set the party’s pace.
New Jersey’s Chris is loud and proud
But rough around the edge.
And Carly has good business sense
Could be she is the wedge.
Who knows who’ll win this major race
It will be quite a fight.
We hope to find the correct one
To give our land its might.

I really enjoy politics so I was inspired by the election to write a ballad.
