Goodbye
The crowd of yellow clad knights
Bellowed their battle cry,
As they surged forward in a wave of light
Not yet ready to say goodbye.
And the two girls gripped each other in embrace
Looking like fallen drops of sunlight from the sky,
As one wiped tears from her face,
Not yet ready to say goodbye.
The music children flew forward like a mob
The other majors wondering why,
And the 8th graders stifled their sobs
Not yet ready to say goodbye.
Yellow, Green, Purple, Red, Blue
The noise began to die,
As the rainbow dispersed throughout the school
Not yet ready to say goodbye.
But eventually the kids let go,
Upperclassmen wiping their eyes with a sigh.
Ready to move on, ready to grow
Still not quite ready, but not unwilling to say goodbye.
