We Planted A Garden
I never liked my hair
tossed over to the right
but you threw it up and over
under the moon that night.
You settled your face
in the crook of my neck;
you turned a pretty mess
into a lovely wreck.
Planting your growing kisses
that eventually turned to trees
sprouting up and up and up
and blooming in my knees.
And now when I'm cold
and our trees are bleak and bare
I toss my hair to the right
and it feels like you're there.
