I pulled out a pencil,
sharpened it's lead,
and wrote every word
that I wanted said.

I closed up the journal,
slipped it away,
and saved it to be read
on a cold rainy day.

Now that day is here and
these words fill me with wonder,
even when the sky is dark
and filled with booming thunder.
