"I have not yet begun to fight!"
John Paul Jones

A message in a bottle
Floating on glass water
Dream-like on the ocean
As a castle in the air

The sound of quiet thunder
And water torn asunder
A fantasy of glass
Within a fragile sphere

A desperate, grasping hope,
The survivor’s heart must cope
Bobbing like a sea bird
Atop the swelling tide
A dream that lived to be cast a-drift,
A dream that lived and breathed,
Defied.

But left to chance, it can’t escape
Silent pleas behold the crimson tide,
Each of us must face our fates,
AND EVERY ALBATROSS MUST DIE.
