To Hike or Not to Hike
The walk started wild with the sun still out
We really didn’t know what is was about
We followed our friends who were leading the way
They promised us it would turn out ok
We started our hike with exhaust and glee
Saw a birds nest up in a tree
As we climbed up higher, the views were great
When dusk approached it was getting late
They said, “Just a little bit more” were almost at the top
I could feel my heart started to drop
We’ve walked in the woods, but never at night
The sounds in the dark gave us a fright
How long will it take us to get back down the hill
This hike turned out to be a test of my will
Did we react to all of this fear
We probably did, because were still here
