Spring
Spring is here
Winter is gone
The birds have returned
They’re all singing their song
It seems all the world’s alive again
After weeks of frosty winter’s fled
Though there’s still something flying cold in the air
Something nagging in the back of our heads
Springtime means new life
But also spring cleaning
To everyone, spring
Has a differing meaning
To some, their pulse quickens
With freedom from frost
Others simply sit in silence
To honor those long lost
To me spring is the busy time of year
Nearing the end of school
When people enjoy the sun outside
And can relax all day by the pool
But spring leads to a time I hate
The summer, with nothing to do
Nothing to distract from complications
Thus, spring I dread, it’s true
Fall’s a delight, winter’s a fright
Spring is waiting for the warmer air
And though to you it may not seem right
Summer is the real winter of my despair
