Imperfection everywhere
Messy hair, skin too fair, face too square
Feeling forced to care, life’s not fair
Put on liner, mascara, blush
Growing up is such a rush
Hoping to impress her crush
Because she thinks she matters
She walks on by, he stops to stare
At her best friend and her perfect hair
Her perfect body, her perfect grades,
Her perfect charm, her perfect grace
Her heart is ripped
Tears rush once again
Down her face
Battle weary, soul is dreary
Wipe the tears to see Him clearly
Reading that He loves her dearly
She’s done with this, this crazy boy
Who led her on like a toy
She found her strength in Christ alone
Where in Him, true love is known.
