Trust and Truth
Trust and truth are funny things.
You’d think for one, you’d need the other
And one by itself, you’d never know
To trust, you need the truth.
To know the truth, you need to trust.
But the funny thing is,
The more you trust, the less truth is told
And the more truth is told,
The more you seem to lose trust.
Mistrust, and lies, are funny things.
They go together perfectly.
Gain one, gain the other,
Forever, it’d seem to take, to bring back the others.
Mistrust others, and never find the truth.
Close off others, and never trust again.
Trust and truth are funny things.
You’d think for one, you’d need the other
And if you lose one, you’d lose the other
And take forever to regain it.
Whether in one person,
Or in everyone,
Or even in yourself.
Trust and truth are funny things.
