Oh, flag, as you wave so mightily
You continue to stress
The difficult times
And those of our success.
Time and time again,
Though cliché it may seem,
You continue to tell the tale
Of the American Dream.
Through good times
As well as the bad
You will always wave by our sides
Just as you always had.
So I bid you farewell
(or at least for the time being)
But I know you’ll be with me,
Always in full swing.
