Perfection
I’m definitely not perfect
And I’ve never pretended to be
You don’t know who I am
So don’t say you wish you could be like me
I never considered myself better than anyone
So please don’t try to play that game
Everyone controls their destiny
If you’re unhappy than you’re the one to blame
Life is no walk in the park for anyone
So don’t fish for pity because I won’t bite
Everyone has had hard times
But that doesn’t mean they’re always right
Everyone has struggles they have to overcome
Life might look better on the fence’s other side
But there’s no reason to put yourself down
Because you never know what your neighbors try to hide
Perfection is what you make of it
Because you never know what someone’s laughs cover
And the past doesn’t make anyone a bad person
As long as you learn to recover
I don’t pretend to be the picture of perfection
Admittedly all too often I have a bad day
So please don’t put me on a pedestal
Because I don’t want to be seen that way
