Beginning to see
Feeling the dead icy touch of my own skin makes me shiver
Recognizing the look of hurt on my own face makes me gasp
I’m beginning to see what I’ve turned out to be
For so long I had believed that I was succeeding
At masking the pain of which I was bleeding
As I Watch my own fingers shake
I realize that my tear stained cheeks
Give away that my expression is a fake
Searching for myself in any reflection
Now as I stand in front of the mirror
I can clearly see my imperfections
I’m beginning to see what I’ve turned out to be
I’ve learned that nothing in this life is a guarantee
You have to fight for what your heart desires
But no matter what some pain will be acquired
