Stitches
Into its folds,
The denim, faded blue,
Stitches stories,
Each one true.
The destroyed hem,
From the day your dogs ran away,
And we raced after them,
I laughed more than I could say.
Teaching me to skateboard,
Produced the ripped knee,
Convincing me to try again,
Pushing me gently.
A grass stain,
From that night we lay,
And gazed up at infinity,
That last night of May.
The denim, faded blue,
I fold and put away,
Ready to hold more memories of you,
On another day.
