The Rejection
The Rejection
To even dream about this crazy event,
Brings a smile to my face.
It was about a year ago,
Madison Square Garden was the place.
For the tiny Nate Robinson,
There laid a titanic task.
A task so ridiculous,
It seems wrong to even ask.
His job, Yao Ming,
Tallest man in the league.
When spectators recognized the gigantic mismatch,
Many grew greatly intrigued.
What a large difference,
Yao, being two feet taller,
But Robinson was a modern Napoleon,
Who was also much much smaller.
With no hesitation,
Nate stepped right up to Mr. Tall.
When noticing his defender,
Yao quickly called for the ball.
When the giant soared up,
Everyone thought two points on the spot.
Waiting for an enormous dunk,
They surprisingly heard a loud SWAT.
Nate had done it,
He rejected the great wall.
Next time Yao will think it through,
Before calling for the ball.
