Ballad of first love
Every day I wonder if today
Will be the day I play
The role of a partner in love.
Will I even have a say?
Every day I look over my shoulder,
Thinking he is the one
Wondering what he will look like,
Every day I see a ton.
I keep my eyes pealed always looking.
Days later I find him,
Gorgeous, cute, funny, and smart
I find his name is Tim.
We talk and feel like I’m in heaven,
We go out and we reach for the stars.
But we had nothing in common,
We did not even get close to Mars.
He was perfect; at least his looks were,
In time I will move on,
No matter his looks or personality
I feel like I was part of a con.
