My dream world
Today was just one of those days
Where nothing would go my way
Clouds filled the heavens and rain fell like tears
The feeling brought me someplace I haven’t seen in years
My eyes became heave, my mind began to soar
And suddenly I wasn’t sitting in a classroom anymore
Everything was dark in the world in the world I could now see
It didn’t look much different than the one I did just flee
Barely louder than the wind I heard a whisper in the air
And out of the shadows a figure did appear
He told me not to cry, he begged me not to scream
The man whose face I’d know even in a dream
My heart began to race, what was I suppose to do?
Then he pulled me into his arms and said I’ve missed you too
Should I cry or should I laugh something in me said
I looked up to see a smile then his eyes began to turn red
As the tear feel from his eye his embrace pulled away
And suddenly I realized he wasn’t meant to stay
I tried grabbing for his hand but it was out of my reach
Falling to the ground my lungs were drained by my screech
Don’t leave me I yelled I’ve finally found you
As I said this I realized these words were long overdue
Goodbye he shouted as his body became opaque
I love you daddy I screamed but suddenly I was awake
