Sojourn
Shut the windows to the world
And close the blinds
And take everything you have
For life takes everything it finds
Stuff in your shirts, your pants, your coats
Stuff in your words, your afterthoughts, your memories
Stuff in your crayons, your paper planes and boats
Stuff in your sighs, your whispers, your laughs
Shove in your wants, your pangs, your desires
As well as your gloves, your scarves, your hats
Force the words back down the throats of liars
Ostracized lepers will pick up their mats
Leave a note and run and run
Jump that train and escape the sun
Broken things like old dreams you shun
And catch a new one till the ride is done
