Favorite Quote:
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
By Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross

The dancer within has been hidden
It’s time for her to appear
With everyone waiting
Right now and right here

She slides into her position
And waits for the curtain to rise
With nervousness and excitement
Reflected in her eyes

On both stage and side line
There are hopes and prayers
For the dancer within to rise
Amidst all of the stares

The drape quickly flies up
And the people clap
The strings begin to hum
The drums start to tap

The dancer within awakens
At the very first sound
Pliées, kicks, pointed toes
And leaps from the ground

With the melody playing
She gains the confidence
Each step more sure
Not feeling so tense

Casting away inhibitions
The dancer within fully surfaces
Soul, body, and music blend
Fulfilling one of her true purposes

She moves about the stage
As if she belongs
Bringing a visual to the sound
Painting the songs

The dancer within emerges
As she loses herself to the rhythm
Breaking free of her chains
She finds her new freedom

The audience gasps
They sit mesmerized
And watch as she glides
With pure joy filling her eyes

The dancer within comes forward
Embracing the spotlight
Fascinating with every motion
Creating magic on this night

Around and around she twirls
Taking all’s breaths away
With a last graceful turn
She ends this ballet

The dancer within and outside
Dips into a final bow low
She looks into the crowd
As they applaud the star of the show
