Bad Grades

Grades mean everything when you’re in school,
Especially when you get into high school.
If you do badly you’re labeled a fool,
If you do well you’re labeled cool

The worst thing is when you have to show your Dad,
And all he can look at are those D’s.
You stomach starts to hurt and you feel really bad,
And to think this is how they waste trees?

You get your phone taken away,
Your world seems to hit the ground.
The world around you turns to gray,
You wish the clock could be rewound.

The teachers tell me I have more potential,
And that I’m smarter than what my grades show.
They say my grades are essential,
Like I already don’t know.

I just wish my grades would improve,
Maybe I should start to pay attention.
At least my parents will approve,
At least I’m not in detention.

I will have strait A’s,
Next time I’m in school.
Maybe after those days,
I won’t be called a fool.
