The Queen
She looked up at her castle,
the kingdom she built on her own,
forged from love and enemies’ bones,
built on the foundations of battle.
All of the scars on her empire,
beg her to follow what she believes in,
but as the walls darken and cave in,
she knows this was all for selfish desire.
The ground crumbles under her feet,
and she cannot save what she has built.
Her kingdom is only stone and silk,
so it collapses while she sleeps.
