What’s Your Favorite Color?
Pink was my favorite color when I was little,
It was soft and lovely and didn’t prickle.
Then I was introduced to the color blue,
And for a while there my life was new.
For once in my life I had purple,
It was nice and I finally had a whole circle.
I had two colors that made me,
It was messy but it made me happy.
Then pink started to show its true hue,
As it was made of red and white unlike blue.
It hurt so much that pink wasn’t authentic,
And it hurt even worse that she wasn’t apologetic.
So I found deep comfort in my beautiful blue,
And pink would never be my favorite again, I knew.
