The Clock

As the sunset draws nigh,

and I begin to notice the time,

I wonder what to do until I die,

until the clock finally chimes.

The flowers bloom nicer than before,

and I embrace their thousand thorns.

The time drips until there’s none,

the price of having great fun.

The stone walls may begin to crack,

but I will stay intact.

The sky may break open one day,

but I have yet to fade away.

From my place between earth and sky.

In the end, the clock is still mine.
