There lived a Bull all alone,
So very strong still very prone.
No one knew from where he'd come,
His life being an unusual conundrum.
His persona was very fierce,
For his eyes could shoot odious spears.
He was callous to the world, he feigned.
The kingdom of his life, he solely reigned.
Whole day he used to wander,
Baffled in thoughts and yonder
The hills that were the home
Of all the creatures and the gloam.
None knew what he'd gone through,
He never opened to someone new.
Who would bother to care for him?
He was filled with fury upto the brim.
One day he met a Unicorn,
For him she was his solace's thorn.
All other animals started to perceive
The way all opinions she was ready to receive.
The Bull did all that he could to ignore
Her and what he thought was her amore,
But he relentlessly failed to notice:
She was as virtuous as God's apprentice.
She had such pure intentions,
Kind services being her sole intellections.
His hatred, unbeknownst to her,
Germinated after his father and mother
Were brutally, by his own uncle killed,
Their bodies were all torn and hilled.
It all was a fight for the throne
And the Bull heeding to his cicerone
Ran away to a place situated much far
After turning misanthropic with a scar.
The Unicorn sensed something was wrong
For the Bull must have a reason to pretend to be strong.
She took a step to, perhaps, help him
On realising how much his life was grim.
She started to show that she cared
But the Bull, he egocentrically blared
Wondering why she was being cliched good
Leaving flowers for him on the driftwood.
He was introverted, didn't want to let her in
And thought of a nasty plot with a grin.
He began to dupe her with fake affection,
Befriending led to her heart's elation.
She knew his rage was mere guise,
He had in him what could entice
Even the most heinous brutes
For he was kind with latent attributes.
They had become the best of friends
Breaking all the prejudices and trends.
But alas! Little did she know what she had
Waiting for her, a divine decree so bad
Where the Bull took her on a walk
Somewhere far, hours ran on a clock
When suddenly came the nightfall
She found herself alone, that was all
That she could see, the Bull was not
In sight, perhaps, he'd left her to rot
There in a jungle situated miles away,
An unknown place, she was left astray.
Tears rolled down her eyes, she was betrayed
By the one she'd loved, she turned afraid.
Still faith made her desperately call his name,
Her heart knew he somehow held no blame.
The Bull, happy with himself, was returning,
Having got rid of the Unicorn, the tables were turning.
He got cornered by a huge flock of wilder beasts
Whose famished eyes looked at him as if he was a feast.
Unheralded, they attacked him, for the sake of game.
They'd tell the entire jungle about their superlative fame.
The flock left, leaving a dying Bull behind.
It was for his karma, of the Unicorn he did remind.
What happened next was a miracle,
He saw the Unicorn as if an oracle
Was coming to life, to his needed aid
Sorrow replaced his usual tirade.
Neither spoke as she stood by him on the ground,
An air of selfless sacrifice was all around.
The Unicorn picked up a nearby twig
And cut open her leg which revealed invig
Silver shining magical blood that ran
Through her veins, she quickly began
To put it on the Bull's wounds that then
Instantly healed, she prayed 'Amen!'
The remorseful Bull truly apologised
For his wrong action, he syllogized.
The Unicorn began to depart, still hurt to the core.
The Bull cried out to her, to hear him once more.
There was no dilemma left nor was any doubt.
The Bull, true with his feelings, poured his heart out.
"In my deepest thoughts you are always there
Like a secret friend who will always care.
Opening your heart to me every day
Venture into my lonely life and believe me when I say...
Everything about you I will always hold true
You mean everything to me and I trust you
Over the mountains and across the sea
United by our love, for all of eternity."
The Unicorn realised his words held meaning,
He was honest now and truly believing.
"Will you always hold me, be with me till the end?
Do you promise to always be my true friend?"
The Bull exulted and nodded a yes,
Life had turned good and the world, beauteous.
The Unicorn turned out to be the Bull's best mate.
To someone once gruff, happiness was gifted by fate.
'The forest of harmony'- said the nearby milestone
For the Bull was no longer alone.

A ballad which happens to be one of my longest works of poetry, written over a span of nine months. It was both brilliant and challenging trying to find suitable rhymes for the same.
A hate-love fable...
