The true sickness
A nation once frightened
Now its people united
After a series of plagues
by which they were blighted
A new plague arose
From out of the east,
Leaving people sick,
Immoble, and howling like beasts
Around the world it flew
Like a rock band on tour
Spreading fear, pain,
And death galore
The painful sound of crying
And a cavalcade of hearses
A horrid stench of rotten flesh
All were soon to worsen
And what came next,
For we have no shame
Is what we do so well
Spread hatred and blame
We turned on each other
As if it would help
But further into crisis
We would soon delve
As bodies piled
And paranoia spread
We were stuck in place
As if we were dead
The peace we gained
Equality we found
We soon stolen
And burned to the ground
The songs of freedom we sing
And the stories we tell
Are muffled by the sound
Of a nation toiling in hell
Landmarks and values ditched
But hatred and fear were not
A future down this path
Wil cause civilization to rot.
