Operation Entebbe
Two hundred sixty on a plane,
Traveling to Paris
Yet, one short stop in Athens, Greece,
The plane, now a derus
The fourth is known as Freedom Day,
Not for the taken crowd
Imprisoned men must be let go,
Else death will be endowed
Low on time and low on allies,
Israeli men must fly
Two thousand four hundred miles south,
Not having their own die
Low on time and low, near the ground,
Entebbe -- they must land
Troops must sweep in swiftly enough
And seize the enemy at hand
The President of Uganda,
Idi Amin has style
Riding in a black Mercedes
A plan was now compiled
Using a white Mercedes for,
a scheme to get theirs back
Taking time before the morrow,
They need to paint it black
Go on Mossad, go on, go fight
Get close there to your prey,
Like nights in the darkness under,
Bad omen you shall slay
One down, two down, three, four, five, six
So close to end the game!
But wait! Get your lovely colonel,
do not carry the blame!
Go on Mossad, go on, go fight
Get close there to your prey,
Like nights in the darkness under,
Bad omen you shall slay
They run into the dark airport,
telling captives, “Get down!”
Clearing the sight, getting the flight,
Leaving the bloodshed ground
Coming back with one life to spare
Sympathy is given
This noble day will not forget,
The people, now driven
I had to write a ballad for my creative writing class and I really loved the movie about Operation Entebbe!
