The Run
We run for the lives
Of kids who continue to put up a fight
They are just hoping to survive
Especially during their dreadful nights
Everyone prays for them to stay alive
With our help, they have a chance
The St. Jude Run
Is an emotional rollercoaster
But we always manage to have a little fun
Blaring the music while singing and dancing along the way
Pushing us to never want to be done
Our journey is from Canton to Peoria
As we see everyone showing their support
Many kids experience euphoria
A memory you will never forget
Running miles upon miles
You don’t realize you’re sweaty and hot
So you still show a smile
That’s when you know
It was worth every mile
All together we raise millions of dollars
Picking up donations along the way
Even getting some from different callers
Record-breaking donations each and every year
You’re excited
knowing that you’ve helped make a difference
Every town becomes united
All together to change the future
The memories run through your mind
They’re like a song stuck in your head
But it’s something you don’t want to leave behind
So they continue every time
At the end of the night
We hope for an answer
To the vicious fight
Against childhood cancer
