I use to love the way you made me laugh
And the way you made me smile
I use to love the way you’d hold my hand
And say you’d stay for “a little while”
I use to love the way you’d tease me,
And the way you’d erase my pain
I use to love the way you would kiss my lips,
As we stood there in the rain
I use to love the way you promised that you’d never leave
And how you would surprise me with the littlest things
I use to love the way you’d laugh at my clumsiness
And the way you’d pick me and say one of your stupid sayings
I use to love the way that you complimented me every chance you had
And how you would always tell me exactly what I wanted to hear
I use to love that no matter what, you always had a smile,
And that as you smiled you’d promise to always stay near
I use to love so many things about the dream that had come true, until I realized this fairytale had no happy ending to look forward to.
