Green can be Venomous
Why here? Why not somewhere else?
Anyplace in the world but she picked here.
She thinks she’s beautiful and special.
Oh how funny it is.
Special? She’s ordinary.
Beautiful? You see that girl over there.
She’s what beautiful looks like.
Her laughter consumes the halls.
My ears yearn for cover.
What kind of noise is that?
Not one I would wish to hear.
Walking through classes like she’s the center.
However she’s only a shadow.
Wait?
What’s he doing?
And her?
Talking to her as if it pleases them.
They all are.
Except me.
They always say things I loath to hear.
She’s gentle.
She’s easy-going.
She’s reliable.
She’s the perfect friend.
But why don’t I see it.
Are they unsighted?
Or wait.
Could it really be.
No it can’t be.
Maybe it is I who is unsighted.
My sight shifts slowly from green to clear.
I see it now peeking through the venomous green.
They were right.
