What I see
What do I see when I look in the mirror
I see a beautiful girl looking at me
So I look right back at her
I see the pain she’s trying to hide
And the women she’s trying to be
She’s strong but everyone seems to c what she does wrong
The mistakes she has made
The things that she faced, the people that hate
Her because they see in her something that she doesn’t
What do I see when I look in the mirror
I see a girl that’s trying to go through life
She wants to make it, but doesn’t know if what she’s doing is enough
But she’s tough, patient and persistent
Most importantly, she’s also brave
And knows one day she’s going to be praised
She’ll face the deep waters and that tall mountain
Like an angry, starving lion
Because she is the queen of the universe
And she’ll let no one stop her from getting what’s hers
That’s what I see when I look in the mirror
