The Different Shades of Me
Most of the time, I am pastel pink—
sweet and sensitive,
conscientious and timely,
enthusiastic and eager and
containing a positive personality.
Sometimes, I am charcoal black—
like the link of a burnt hot dog,
dark as dawn,
angry and envious and
filled with pure hatred.
I am mixed like a cup of coffee—
one half; a shade of pink,
the other half; a shade of black.
