The Library
The Library
The books on the shelves
the scent of dust
the librarian saying
“take ten if you must”
The chairs moved all over
the sun shining through the windows
the silence in the room
the most peaceful time of all
the kids books on one side
the thick novels on the other
the stranger you make eye contact with
makes you feel something
like you’re not alone
the thought of making noise
makes you anxious
ahhh the warmness in your sweater
you sit and read your favorite book
you get excited and then they
announce that you have to go
You go home and get ready for bed
and then you sleep like a baby
and you’re content with your day
