The Drink Not Taken
Three drinks sitting on the store shelf,
And sorry I could not pick them all
Lemonade, its sour punch
Puts tingling on my tongue,
Milk, really, the sweetest choice
calcium and protein, silky texture
Then chose water’s chilly taste,
Because it was hot outside
And hydrates all the same,
And in that moment,
Took a sip,
And wished I’d drunk the lemonade!
Yet stuck with the water,
Thinking I wouldn’t change my mind
Yet, I will be telling this with a sigh,
As hours go by,
Knowing milk would’ve been the best choice...
