Wasn't Exactly Ready
I didn't think it would be this easy
To set our memories aside
But I don't want you no more
So many times I've cried
So many times you lied
We destroyed each other
It wasn't enough
For us to last forever
But I thought this would be tough
I feel free
But oh-so-lonely as well
I thought I was safe in your arms
But you never caught me when I fell
It wasn't expected
But I knew it would happen eventually
It came so fast
And I wasn't exactly ready.

This poem is about my first love. We lasted 1 year and 4 months before our relationship came to its brutal end. I wrote this because I thought it would be so hard to get over him, but once I did it freed me.
