Aspirations
The man in the corner is slumping
Because he knows his time is up
And he doesn't want in
On the big trash tank
And the bin
That is his investment bank
All he wants is a family
With a wife and a child
But he's stuck in an apartment on Wall Street
Where life is hardly mild
When the sun goes down he sits weeping
Stuck in a pool of denial
The janitor sweeping next to him
Dreams of being a war hero
But he is too old to enlist
He's too old to grow
So he had to trash his dreams of bliss
Finally the bartender looks up
He's finished polishing a glass
If only he'd gone to law school
He'd be at the top of the class
And he wouldn't be such a fool
