The days are short;
My patience too.
You wrecked my life
What can I do?
You were an angel
Sent straight from hell.
Didn't bother to catch me
When I just fell.
'Cause I'm ten feet under
You've sunk so low.
Lowest thing ever,
You should've known.
You should've known.

I'm barely passing;
My life is done.
I'm close to running;
You've nearly won.
I'm ready to fight
This crazy game
Win back by my pride
Put you to shame.
'Cause I'm ten feet under
You've sunk so low.
Lowest thing ever,
You should've known.
You should've known.

And now who's crying?
Who's ten feet low?
Who's at shame now?
Who's the freak show?
'Cause now
You're ten feet under
I've sunk so low.
Lowest thing ever,
I should've known.
I should've known.

The author's comments:
This poem was based off a story I heard about from a friend. A young girl was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, and she didn't tell anybody about it. Instead, she attacked her boyfriend and nothing was resolved out of that. This poem is for her.
