My Dog
Onto the first grade,
Feelings like I’m on top of the world,
A “big girl”,
Smaller than I think,
Always laughing ,
Smiling as wide as as my mouth could smile,
Running around with my toy dog,”Pally”,
Mom tucking me in my bed,
My bed covered in disney princesses,
I’m appalled I got a coloring sheet for homework,
I keep wishing to be bigger,
I want to drive,
I want to go to high school,
Little do I know.
Then one day I pick out a new bedspread,
I’ve gotten tired of princesses,
and now I’m a senior in high school,
Wishing to be six,
In my princess bed,
Just once more.
