i'll be your shoes

i'll be your shoes
to walk your way home
because today's
not alright
for you to do it alone
down at the corner,
near your old, abandon house
you read the
news paper
of all those tragedies
we forget about
but today is different
for your coffee's replaced
with a decaffeinated face
of two tired eyes
but like everyone we know
you say
everyone dies
some of the girls whisper
as they all pass us by
but they'd never come to you
and say it
no, not even if they try
but i'll be your shoes
to walk your way home
because nobody should
have to
do it alone.

Nice work! It sounds strange to say that I like poems about grief. But I definitely do. I think there was a line that I would like you to add a word, but I love it.

Especially love the " Because nobody should have to do it alone."

Well done, Leah!

It's a great poem. I can tell you put much time and effort into this poem and it really shows. Can't wait to read another one from you Leah R of Monmouth JCT. NJ!
