The M- Word
The M Word,
Moving
The way parents say all happy and cheery
While trying to hide their fears of what’s to come
Seeing rooms emptying
As you pack your things
Clothes, Snow globes, Toys, and Dance Shoes,
Into boxes,
That are filled to the brim
With the memories that they hold
Resentment from children friends and family,
That they are moving away and leaving everyone behind
For whatever reason,
Jobs, fun, a change of pace and whatever else they say
Leaving to go to an unfamiliar place,
Is scary frustarating and intimidating
But look around closely and you’ll see
There are things around you that are much the same
Like friends, enemies and attitudes
So even though there are upsides
I still call moving
The Dreaded M- Word
