In All That Time
I feel small, often, and many
Beneath the greatness of the blue sky high above our insignificant little heads
Amidst the brilliance of thousands of stars,
Of asteroids, planets, galaxies, universes
Of people; old, young, sick, and bright
Of countries, seas, continents
And in all that space of being small, I met you.
I feel large, sometimes, and cherished
Between your arms that are warm and safe around my fragile soul
In the way you look at me
Of hurt, broken, bruised
Of this; kindness, care, and strength
Of you, me, and whatever we can grow
And in all that time of being yours, I fell in love.
