The Stormy Sunday
I woke up one sunny morning,
but I have clouds in my head dimming the light.
I close my cracked blinds to make my room dark,
almost as dark as my thoughts.
I mope downstairs dragging my feet,
and struggling to keep my heavy head off of the floor.
I look up from my feet,
and look right through my reflection on the window.
I see colorful wooden leafy giants, a smiling yellow sun,
emerald green grass, and the sparkling blue sky.
it all looks gray to me.
Dark gray clouds begin to spiral in my head.
they softly begin to rain.
I fall to the floor holding my crinkled face.
The storm really starts.
Heavy rain pours from the sky.
Loud thunder shakes my soul.
As the rain pours it floods my body,
and my heart drowns.
I could not take it anymore,
I ran upstairs and opened my drawer.
Lightning struck and the thunder roared.
The storm dissipated quickly.
My gray ended,
it turned to red,
and the red,
to black.
