Too High
My lips covered the aluminum rim
of the soda can that’d been trimmed.
The flame lit inches from my eyes
as I inhaled with multiple tries.
My throat burned with a sensation
that filled me with slight relaxation.
I breathed for more
making my chest sore.
My mouth felt dry,
wow, I was floating in the sky.
I felt out of control
of my own body I continued to roll.
Feeling high, on top of the world
in a ball, I curled.
Make it stop, I said to you
but you just laughed and had no clue.
For an hour I was filled with fear,
I wanted the end to be near.
