The last four years,
you’ve been in restless slumber.
The days filled with tears,
are too many to number.

But today, I’ve heard
some dreadful news.
The day you’ve so long deferred…
Death has taken my muse.

And so, here I write
long lost in grief and pain.
Without your glowing light,
it’s a cold storm and pouring rain.

But nevertheless, you linger on
in our ears, in our hearts, in our minds and souls.
And although your body might be gone,
you remain in the hearts you stole.

And so, Gustavo, I write to you
knowing that you will never read this.
It’s just that, in this world, there are few
that I feel I will truly miss.
